Create a Facial Skin Care Regimen for Your Dry Skin
The changes in weather conditions can create havoc on the dry skin on your face.
It is possible, however, to combat dry skin challenges by using over-the-counter treatment creams to even, firm, and smooth. The first critical step to getting your dry skin in good condition is choosing the right moisturizing products and using them correctly.
You can keep your skin looking radiant and feeling silky soft all year round by establishing a skin care regimen for your dry skin.
Try using soaps that are made of olive oil or other natural ingredients.
Milk cleansers are gentle on dry skin. Lathering washes, however, will make your skin extra dry. Apply a cream-based cleanser that softens skin. Also, treat dry skin with cleansers that have oil in their names.
Pamper facial skin with gentle cleansers.
Avoid cleansers and soaps that contain detergents such as sodium lauryl sulfate, which will suck the natural oils from your skin. Foaming body washes, bubble baths and harsh soaps can totally sabotage efforts to retain moisture in your skin.
Look for facial creams and lotions that are rich in moisturizing agents.
Apply them after you wash your face or after you shower. They are most effective while your skin is still damp. Examine labels and find products with glycerin, shea butter, ceramides, and stearic acid.
Introduce cold creams into your skin care regimen. While cold creams are traditionally used for removing dirt and makeup from dry skin, find a gentle cream to baby your skin in the winter.

Hot water is soothing to the psyche but will quickly strip your body of natural oils if you linger too long in it. Use a bath oil after your bath or shower. Moisture can be sealed with petroleum jelly and it helps to prevent extra dry hands from cracking.
Hydrate your dry skin from the inside out.
Eating a healthy diet will maximize your skin’s moisture-producing properties. Eat foods rich in anti-inflammatory omega 3 fatty acids like soybeans, salmon and walnuts. Avoid large quantities of alcohol and caffeine.
Choose your moisturizing products carefully.
Consistently use products that replenish lost moisture during the daytime and before bedtime. The results will be skin that feels good and reveals visible evidence of moisture-rich skin.
