Cheap Hand Cream Reviews: L’Essence De Boshea Shea Butter Hand Cream

hand cream reviews shea butter

As a woman with chronically dry skin I love a new hand cream, so I was thrilled to try L’Essence De Boshea, which is reasonably priced at $18.00 for two tubes. This L’Occitane shea butter hand cream alternative promised to nourish and restore severely dry hands using silky smooth hydration.

After smoothing this thick hand cream – consisting of 20 percent shea butter– on my hands, I found that my hands felt soft  – in fact, remarkably supple and smooth.

I happen to love a heavy hand cream like this one that’ll make super-dry patches disappear while making your skin feel super-moisturized, silky and amazing.

Hand Cream Pros:Is it greasy? No. Does it absorb into your skin quickly? Yes. The product seeps into the skin within 5 seconds (I counted!)

So you are free to slather it on your hands, banish dry spots and start typing away at your laptop immediately.

In fact, to boost the penetration of the product, I recommend you exfoliate your hands and slough off dead skin cells first.

Then apply a quarter-sized amount of this hand cream as a spa treatment on your hands, feet and body to deliver moisture to seriously dry skin.

beauty reviewHand Cream Pros: While similar priced shea-infused hand creams range from $24 to $48 per tube, the price point for this hand cream  infused with coconut, sesame and sweet almond oils will double your beauty dollars at approx $9 per 150ml/ 5.2oz tube.

Also the metal tube that contains the product is recyclable. So the packaging is not only green and environmentally safe, but the hand cream is not tested on animals!

Hand Cream Cons: While masking the strong smell of shea butter is quite the beauty dilemma for cosmetic chemists, this product has a strong scent than lingers on the hands for at least an hour.

makeup and beauty reviews

The fragrance used in the product is a pleasant sweet scent, but might clash if you layer it with your everyday perfume or scented body lotion.  If you are wearing a heavy perfume or a fruity body spray, apply this hand cream at night to prevent mixing the L’Essence De Boshea with your daily fragrance.

The product doesn’t contain any sunscreen, so you might want to mix it with a lightweight SPF lotion to keep your hands protected from harsh UV rays.

Glam it or Slam it? I say glam it! I am a product snob, and while I absolutely love L’occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream I was impressed with this hand cream.  As a dry skin sufferer and a frequent hand-washer, I love any hand cream that hydrates my skin and gives me spa-quality smoothness for cheap.

Where to Buy: Starting May 1st you can buy the L’Essence De Boshea at your neighborhood Costco for $18 for two tubes. Or you can buy it at Amazon here L’Essence De Boshea Dry Skin Hand Cream 5.0 Oz (Pack of 2)

Disclosure!: I received the product mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on this blog. Regardless of the free stuff, I only recommend beauty items that I personally use, absolutely love and believe will be good for my readers.

I just bought a pack of two of this lotion. The feel is definitely great and it’s not as expensive as L’occitane but still pretty good. Hydrating and has a pleasant smell, but the smell is really strong and lingering (as mentioned above). I would definitely recommend it, but if you’re not one that enjoys strong smells, or around people who don’t like that, then I wouldn’t say this is the lotion for you.

Help —my Costco at Patriot Blvd, in Glenview, Illinois has stopped carrying L’essence handcream. I love the product and have tried making this request via the L’Essence website –which was unhelpful at best. AG
